Not satisfied customer! <br />
I ordered my counter tops from Ellicott City Dec 1; they were just installed April 4. I complained to the owner that the individual did not come out to measure, he said he would make sure he did and I would be very happy. Also they were not receiving credit cards so I had to pay with a check.  After they were finally measured,   I was told the owner skipped out on them and I might not get my countertops. After months of calling the Ellicot City branch, Richard Coiner e mailed me that Peer Beveridge was setting up a schedule.  The sales person at Ellicott City said the installer Peer Beveridge would not install unless I had a certified check and faxed him a copy.  Mr. Beveridge arrived at my house, he would not bring the granite in my house unless I gave him the certified check, and he said that was the deal.  He also said they do not install the garnet for my fireplaces, so they stacked them, I was told that they would. I came back down stairs to check on the work but they had left already.  The work is terrible.  The garnet is to short is some spots, the cabinets stick out.  The sink hole is too big, the sink sticks out.  There are chips and flaws in the garnet.  It is a terrible job and I need some one to fix it.  I called the Ellicott City branch; they said to stop payment on the check, I explained they said I had to have a certified check, they said they would make some calls.  This has been a terrible experience, I can not believe a company can treat there customers this way!  I just tried to e mail a complaint, the e mail came back <br />

<description><![CDATA[Dealing with The Countertop Company in Richmond Va has been a very expensive, educational and most trying experience.<br />
They "misquoted" our job first of all and we had to add $1200 to it on the day of the templating to keep our install date that they failed to show up for.<br />
Bob Watson sold us a $441 Eclipse sink and the installers showed up with a $79 sink--they showed me the website they order them from. <br />
The granite grain was running every direction imaginable.<br />
Bob Watson at the showroom was absolutely useless in getting anything resolved.<br />
I went to the fabrication shop pretending to look for a job in order to get someone to speak to me. The shop manager says Tom Passarelli does not know what he's doing and does not care that so many of us are unhappy.<br />
We ended up getting a warrant and Passarelli dodged this process until I found a court date where someone else had him in court and I had him served in that courtroom that day! Now we have received Judgment and have to figure out how to get the money.<br />
The Washington Newspaper reported that all this was sold Jan 31, 2008. They continue to operate here in Richmond as The Countertop Company. <br />
I really believe we have to help each other on this to get this any type of satisfaction. ]]></description>

<title>Time Warner Cable &amp; Security</title>

<description><![CDATA[We moved to Charlotte in September and went with Time Warner for cable, internet, and phone. The only thing that works right is the phone. The TV service has been a constant problem, and we've had to have people out here to fix it more than 10 times in the past 6 months. Every few weeks the picture quality drops out to a fuzzy mess and we have to have it looked at again. The audio for the past month has been scratchy on all the channels, sounding like an old record player with treble turned all the way up (and this is on every tv in the house). But with this problem, they've offered no help what so ever. On a good day, when the picture is clear, you'll have the picture freeze for about 2 seconds every 10-15 minutes (and this happens on all the tvs, not just the one with the digital box. It's like you're watching a scratched DVD that can't quite play smoothly. How this happens without a digital box, I don't know. Complete nonsense, and they plan to go completely digital... that should be funny. <br />
Now... Internet... This has been a battle from the start. Firstly let me say that their basic speed offered is 5mbps upgradable to 8mbps. When I lived up north we had Cablevision and their basic speed was 15mbps upgradable to 30mbps; that's just to give some guidelines to the quality of service being offered.<br />
So...  Service drops out all the time. Every night our internet speed drops from 5 mbps down to 1mbps. You can test this online, ping their servers, print things out, make them diagrams and posters, yet still they tell you its fine. Meanwhile it takes 30 seconds to open google.com but to them, this is totally fine. They deny the speed is slowed to sometimes only 300Kbps (not even a full mbps), despite being able to test your speed using their own speed test page. <br />
Bottom line, it's like living in the dark ages. It's just terrible from start to finish (although I'm glad they can make a phone work). ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[As a customer of the Countertop Company, I have lost 5K when my countertops were never installed and I never received a refund. I have spent that much in legal fees to get some type of restitution in this matter. <br />

I suggest any potential new customer can not trust an employee who was a part of this smoke and mirror scam even if under new ownership. The former employees knew what type person they worked for, yet still sold the product knowing a high percentage of people would never get what they paid for.<br />
<br />
I hope anyone thinking of using this company refers to the BBB of VA, NC,and MD, the Va State Attorney General's office, the Federal Trade Commission, NC State Attorney General's office. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[While on your lunch break, you should stop at Subway sandwiches. Their subs are tasty, fresh, and homemade. Subway restaurant has a variety of different delectable sandwiches. I've tried their tuna subs, meatball sub with mozzarella cheese, teriyaki chicken and turkey sub, etc. Also, they offer veggie and seafood subs. Plus, two new added additions black forest ham and roast beef sub. You have your side choices of what you want on it, tomatoes, pickles, olives, lettuce, jalepeno peppers ( which are hot, hot, hot)mayonnaise, etc. Along with the sandwiches, you can order soups, box of raisins, yogurt, baked chips and cookies ( which are the size of a pancake) the oatmeal and raisin cookies are exceptionally good and melts right in your mouth.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[The Countertop Company of Ellicott City is no longer owned by Tom Passarelli.  It has been purchased by Javan Capitol Partners LLC.  As an employee of The Countertop Company I feel badly for all the customers that are dealing with Mr. Passarelli.  I have not received my commission from December.<br />

Javan Capitol Partners is a great company.  I have been selling for them for 5 weeks and haven't had one complaint.  I read one complaint that said do not do business with Ellicott City..please do.  You will get your stone installed on time.... we have thousands of slabs that can be seen at StoneSurfaces in Rockville, Maryland.]]></description>

Money being owed to the employees an employees not working due to the fact they arn't being paid. The contertop company owes out alot of money to everyone including one employee that I know 3k.And thay dont know where to turn to get their money.They wont answer phone calls and you just can't get a hold of them. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[We also are trying to resolve problems with the countertop company. We have sent numerous e-mails and made numerous calls, only to get no response. We were promised installation before Thanksgiving but did not have countertops installed until the 28th. We starting asking for service on December 6th, finally a service rep show on December 28th and said it was a defective product. That is the only response we have gotten. If you are shopping for a countertop DO NOT use The Countertop Company in Ellicott City Md. The ironic thing is their e-mail tag is serviceusa.com because there will be absolutely no service if you decide to deal with this company. ]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[Pros:<br />
I had BBQ Beef Brisket sandwich which was delicious and the entertainment was good. Nice atmosphere and design...a little tight downstairs.<br />

Cons:<br />
The service was absolutely horrible and the sad part is that we sat right in front of the manager who was witnessing firsthand the horrible service (empty drinks, no silverware, no napkins, missing entrees, appetizer never came out) and nothing was said or done. Everyone I have spoken to, friends & neighbors, had the exact same thing to say "The Service is horrible"  It's sad because this place has a lot of potential. <br />
<br />
That being said, this was before new management took over, so will see if the new mgmt. team can turn it around. Of course they will have to win back a lot of sore customers with promotions. They better hurry b/c overhead in that area is through the roof!<br />
<br />
If it wasn't for the great sandwich, this place would only get 1 star in my book.<br />

Re-visit is unlikely.]]></description>
