If the water is high from recent rains it is quite easy to kayak all the way down to at least just above the dams just west of Occoquon. You would have to find a way to carry your kayak around both the main dam and the lower dam but you would be in the town of Occoquon by the time you could put the kayak back in the water. Check it out on google maps satellite view to see if you could find a route to carry your kayak around the dams. If the water is low you might find a couple of spots near Bull Run Regional Park where you have to get out and walk the kayak for a few feet to continue downstream.
