Have you checked out Sleepy Poet Antique Mall, just off South Blvd, near the new Scaleybark station?
If you are looking for a ride in the country to go antique-ing, I like to drive to Ashboro (about an hour east) - there is a large antique mall (Collector's Mall on Sunset Ave) and several smaller shops in their historic downtown area. You'll see a few billboards for it on the way.
Don't take the highway - take Rt 49 east and it's a nice drive through little towns. :)
Also, let us never forget the great Metrolina Antiques show that comes to the fairgrounds that comes at least once a month! That place is CRAWLING with great stuff and dealers from around the Southeast!
