I am a gentleman farmer, when the power company wanted $ 8,000 to run electric service to my farm I gladly said see ya.25 years ago I hooked up a diesel generator instead.lately I installed a wind turbine and solar system and store the power in a battery bank and use a inverter to convert the 12v battery bank into 120 volt ac power. It has worked so well im doing the same to my home in a subdivision.its not a cheap project but electricty isnt getting cheaper either.Moved to fauquier county 25 years ago to get a better quality of life.its still great country life.compared to the city.
